Summary
Cleanara does not ask you to create an account and its cleaning engine sends no analytics telemetry. Web Indexing is a separate third-party option that stays off without consent.
Data we collect
Cleanara collects none. Its cleaning engine does not collect or store personal data or disk contents on our servers, including:
- name, email, identifiers
- files/content from your disk
- browser history
- passwords / credentials
- location
Network traffic
Cleanara may use the internet for:
- periodic update checks against the official manifest; official packages are signed by INS PROD, but installation is still started manually
- Web Indexing only if you explicitly consent (see below)
Cleanara does not upload your files. Cleaning happens locally on your machine.
Optional Web Indexing (Bright component)
Web Indexing may help fund Cleanara, but it is off by default and runs only after explicit consent.
- You may accept or decline without changing any cleaning feature
- You may disable it at any time from Cleanara
- Every OFF-to-ON change asks for Bright consent again
- While active, it may use spare resources, the internet connection, and the IP address as described by Bright

Bright SDK - key points (official source):
- Bright states that the IP address is the only personal information it collects and retains.
- Its policy also describes technical/non-personal information, including OS and SDK versions, hardware specifications, approximate geolocation, URL requests, and timestamps.
- Bright states that it does not sell personal information, while allowing disclosures to affiliates, subcontractors, or service providers as described in its policy.

Security
Cleanara runs with low priority and applies your minimum retention to explicitly configured targets. Default targets are listed in the FAQ. Web Indexing can be turned off independently at any time.
